Newark — Longtime Democratic organizer Iris M. Delgado has been named director of Victory 2017, the coordinated campaign between Murphy for Governor and the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.

“When Democrats work together for victory, Democrats win. And when we have smart and trusted people like Iris leading our team, we’re that much stronger,” said Phil Murphy. “I am grateful that she will be heading our coordinated team effort to elect Democrats at all levels.”

“Iris has a wealth of campaign experience and knowledge about our state that will ensure success for Democrats up and down the ballot in November,” said State Democratic Chairman John Currie.

“Having been on numerous campaigns with Iris, I know first-hand how hard-working and respected she is,” said Brendan Gill, Murphy for Governor campaign manager. “I’m excited to welcome her to our team.”

Immediately prior to joining Victory 2017, Delgado served as the National Campaigns Operations Director for SEIU’s Member Political Organizing Program.
