JCPD Officers Participate in annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to Raise Funds for Special Olympics
What: Members of the Jersey City Police Department are joining law enforcement officials from several Hudson County agencies to raise money for the Special Olympics New Jersey by participating in the 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run. Jersey City Police Officers will run from one end of Jersey City to the other carrying the “Flame of Hope,” which passes through 26 communities, ultimately making its way to light the Opening Ceremony cauldron at the Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games. Jersey City students from MS 7 and PS 27 will help cheer on the runners and hand out waters as the officers run past carrying the torch.
