Jennifer Zinone, District 10 GOP Congressional Candidate, Calls On Mayor Davis To Prioritize Bayonne Above His Political Agenda
Bayonne – The recent attack on local business, Buon Appetito, by Mayor Davis’ political allies for the crime of contracting their opponent in the upcoming Board of Education election, local businessman Michael Shatravtka, to produce an apolitical business commercial, is antithetical to mayoral responsibilities. Zinone stated, “This is just the latest in a long line of Davis’ failures to reach out and help the community. I’ve been contacted by business owners and employees looking for help. They’re struggling and have been given no direction in navigating these unusual and difficult times.”
Zinone continued, “The common theme I’m hearing is that Mayor Jimmy Davis is doing robo calls supporting his cherry-picked team in the upcoming BOE election, but never once had anyone in city hall call these businesses to help. Many of these businesses will not be able to keep their doors open much longer.” Bayonne business owners and managers will quietly state that they have received little to no direction or even concern from Bayonne’s elected leadership, all Democrats. “He’s too busy campaigning for his allies to help the residents of Bayonne he was elected to serve. That is not how a leader behaves,” Zinone stated.
One needs only to look at Davis’ recent endorsements of Congressmen Albio Sires and Donald Payne Jr., both do-nothing career politicians, to know his priorities. Indeed, Payne Jr. is a legacy politician in office due to the political machine his father built, while Sires is most well-known for the prodigious lack of legislation he has initiated.
In response to owners contacting her for help, Jennifer Zinone is organizing a coalition of local businesses to help them forge ahead together through this unprecedented crisis. “Someone needed to step up, and if our elected leaders won’t, then these business owners and I will do it.” Zinone stated.
