Jersey City Extends Firefighters’ Contract, Working with IAFF Local 1066 to Guarantee Every Firehouse Remains Open 365 Days a Year

 

What:             Mayor Steven M. Fulop, Public Safety Director James Shea and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 1066 will make an announcement regarding the Jersey City Fire Department’s contract extension this Thursday. Working cooperatively with IAFF Local 1066 for the betterment of the city, the current contract for firefighters will be extended through 2024 and ensures all 26 firehouses in Jersey City are efficiently staffed and operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Details of the new contract will be released at the press conference.
