Jersey City and Parsippany-Troy Hills Mayors come Together to Sign Ordinance Protecting and Enhancing Boonton Reservoir

 

What:             Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop will be joined by Parsippany-Troy Hills Mayor Michael Soriano to sign an ordinance increasing the environmental protection of the Boonton Reservoir, enhancing the quality of water for drinking purposes and opening parts of the area to the public while maintaining security surrounding the area.

Following the signing and speakers, a tour of the area will take place. Through City Ordinance 18-04, the administration in consultation with the Open Space Institute, the Jersey City Environmental Commission and other stakeholders, will create a master plan to determine public use of the property, educational components for Jersey City students, and brand new security measures for the Parsippany Police and Morris County Park Patrol to secure the space.
