Jersey City Short-Term Rental Community Releases New Ad to Dispel Offensive Misinformation Spread by Special Interests
Video urges Jersey City residents to knock down the home sharing ban by voting No on Municipal Question 1
Jersey City, NJ (October 10, 2019) — Today, Keep Our Homes , a public question committee backed by members of the Jersey City short-term rental community and Airbnb, released a new television commercial that condemns offensive misinformation being spread by Jersey City officials to disparage residents who share their homes.
Jersey City residents are urging their friends and neighbors to join them by voting No on Municipal Question 1 to knock down the mayor and City Council’s short-term rental ban on the November ballot.
“It’s alarming to see well-funded special interests doing the dirty work of politicians and attacking long-time Jersey City residents who rely on home sharing to pay their bills. The mayor’s team is seeking to divide our community by labeling hard-working residents as ‘strangers’—loaded language that has no place in Jersey City,” said Graeme Zielinski, spokesperson for the Keep Our Homes campaign. “The short-term rental ban would threaten the livelihoods of Jersey City families and force them to abandon the communities they call home. We need to stand together to reject this ban and Vote No on Municipal Question 1.”
