Jersey City’s First annual Public Safety Appreciation Day to Honor the Brave Men and Women who Keep Communities Safe with a Family-fun Celebration
What: The first annual Public Safety Appreciation Day will honor the over 2,000 men and women who keep our neighborhoods safe on a daily basis. We are welcoming the public to join us for a day of family fun as we pay a special tribute to Jersey City’s parking enforcement, police officers, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, and crossing guards.
The day of recognition is filled with various entertainment including a BBQ, music, giveaways, obstacle courses, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and sports activities for Jersey City’s first responders and public safety members as well as the public who attends to show their appreciation.
Members of the police, fire, dispatchers and crossing guards will be on hand partaking in the festivities, which will kick off at noon with a JCPD vs. JCFD softball battle of the badges. The 2nd annual summer community relations program #CHAT4Change will launch its 6-week contest with a scavenger hunt at 2 p.m.
