Joint Hearing to Focus on Impacts of Climate Change in New Jersey

(TRENTON) – The Assembly Environment and Solid Waste and Senate Environment and Energy Committees will meet jointly Thursday to examine issues surrounding climate change and the State’s response to growing environmental concerns.

The committees will hear testimony from invited guests on climate change mitigation and recommendations for future actions by the State to address greenhouse gas emissions.

Confirmed guests include the Board of Public Utilities; Department of Environmental Protection; New Jersey Climate Change Alliance; Environmental Analysis and Communications Group at Rutgers; Rutgers Climate Institute; New York University Institute for Policy Integrity; and America’s Forests.

The Assembly Committee is chaired by Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin (D-Middlesex), and the Senate Committee is chaired by Senator Bob Smith (D-Middlesex, Somerset).
