Joint statement by Latino Action Network,
Working Families Alliance, and the Latino Institute
in response to Mayor Rendo’s Statement:

“It is disheartening and sad to hear Kim Guadagno’s running mate accept negative stereotypes about the Latino community during his remarks today and imply that our collective experience is limited to cleaning houses and washing dishes. This is the exact kind of disrespect that runs throughout Lt. Governor Guadagno’s Republican Party, from President Trump and his racist and divisive policies to hurtful statements like the ones issued by Carlos Rendo. Phil Murphy is running for Governor to finally give our community the opportunities we need by funding public education and job training and making our state’s economy work for everyone, not just those at the top. That’s why the Latino community is fully behind Phil Murphy, not Kim Guadagno.”
