KEADY CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS FROM COUNTY COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Belmar, NJ – Jim Keady is pleased to announce he secured the endorsement of two prominent local officials for Congress in the Democratic nomination in the 4th district. The endorsements come from Liz deBeer, Co-chairwoman of the Fair Haven Democrats and Former Wall Township Democratic Chairman and veteran, Gary Faraci.
“It is an honor to be endorsed by two Democratic and civic leaders like Gary and Liz,” said Jim Keady. “Their careers are an example of what can happen when dedicated public servants work to make their communities better places for working and middle class families.”
Gary Faraci, Veteran, Former Wall Township Democratic Chairman
Former Wall Township Democratic Chairman Gary Faraci endorsed Jim Keady for Congress. Faraci, a global business executive, is a military veteran, a member of the Monmouth County Progressive Caucus, and was elected to the Monmouth County Democrats Hall of Fame, for his more than three decades of support and leadership.
Faraci stated “As a business executive who has visited 37 states and 39 countries, and someone who has lived abroad, I applaud Jim’s long-time efforts to visit, help, and learn from other countries. His dedication to helping and educating others in need both here and abroad is exceptional, and what he has learned from these efforts helps us here at home.
“As a veteran, I really like Jim Keady’s position on increasing the funding for veterans’ benefits, especially healthcare, while decreasing the bloated military war budget” Faraci said. “Priority should be on helping our returning veterans, not on more unneeded and unwanted war equipment.
“And as a Progressive, Jim and I believe the government’s two primary functions are to (1) pass laws that protect and benefit the citizens, and (2) pass laws that require large entities and corporations to play by a set of regulatory rules. Progressives do believe in capitalism, but capitalism that is regulated to protect its citizens.
“I urge all my friends and CD4 neighbors to vote for Jim Keady to replace absentee Congressman Chris Smith. We need Jim Keady’s passion and compassion, as well as his intelligence and inspiration.”
Liz deBeer, Co-chairwoman of Fair Haven Dems
“My family is supporting Jim Keady for Congress for multiple reasons, but nothing is more important than Jim’s consistent commitment to the people of the Jersey Shore.
“Jim stood with us at vigils at Congressman Smith’s Freehold office, at Pride in Asbury Park, at the symbolic town hall in Manalapan, and at the Planned Parenthood and the immigrant rallies in Red Bank. I stand with him now so he can stand for us in Congress.”
“I have a Congressman in Chris Smith who hasn’t held a town hall in decades, and with his silence and unwillingness to speak with voters in this district, tells us that our voices don’t matter. When I asked Jim’s primary opponent if he intended to live and spend time in this district, he told me that it’s “none of your business.” We already have a Congressman with that attitude. We don’t need another one.”
Liz deBeer also serves on the board of Covenant House Asbury Park and the NJ Council of Teachers of English. She is a former board member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County and is a retired Point Pleasant Beach High School teacher.
