KEADY CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES WIDE ARRAY OF ENDORSEMENTS ON EVE OF MONMOUTH COUNTY CONVENTION

Belmar, NJ – On the eve of the Monmouth County Democratic Convention, candidate Jim Keady is pleased to announce a slew of endorsements for Congress in the Democratic nomination in the 4th district.

A number of Caucuses came out in favor of Keady. The Monmouth County Women’s Caucus, LGBTQ Caucus, and the Progressive Caucus have all pledged to vote for Jim at the convention.

Keady also secured the endorsement of three prominent local officials. The endorsements come from Robert H. Schmitt, Jr., Councilman, Allentown, David Pascale, Chairman, Red Bank Human Relations Committee, and Eliot Colon, Brielle School Board Member.

Keady also received the endorsements of all three Our Revolution groups in the district: Our Revolution Monmouth County, Our Revolution Ocean County, Our Revolution Essex County, and Our Revolution Burlington County groups.

“I thank these individuals, and everyone in the caucuses and organizations for their support and faith in my candidacy,” said Jim Keady. “Together, we will send a resounding message to Congressman Chris Smith that working and middle class families in the district will no longer be ignored.”

Robert H. Schmitt Jr., Borough Councilman, Allentown – “I’m asking my friends, neighbors, family and constituents to join me in supporting Jim Keady for Congress here in the 4th congressional district! I know that Jim will bring a solid commitment to progressive ideals to Washington, D.C. He will fight for Medicare-for-all, so that Americans can have a health care plan that doesn’t force working families, seniors, and students are not forced to choose between medical care or impoverishment.

“Jim has a rock solid commitment to women’s health and reproductive justice, in staunch contrast to our current Congressman Chris Smith. And he will fight for a jobs plan that favors unions, the trades, law enforcement, firefighters and first-responders, and small business owners alike. As a fellow New Jersey native, I am excited to send someone to Congress who will work every day to protect our precious Jersey Shore and indeed our entire globe from climate change, and push for a green economy that will create millions of good-paying jobs for Americans.

I encourage the voters of the 4th district to join me in supporting my friend, Jim Keady For Congress: One with us because he’s One of Us!”

David Pascale, Chairman, Red Bank Human Relations Committee

Today David Pascale, businessman and Chair of the Human Relations Committee in Red Bank, backed Jim Keady for Congress.

Pascale said, “I’m endorsing Jim Keady for Congress! He has stood up for Red Bank first and courageously. He has offered help and support in real time for all our residents over the years. Jim was instrumental in helping Red Bank become the Welcoming & Inclusive Community we strive to be and helped launch the social justice movement of Monmouth County.

“There is only one Democrat in this race who can effectively challenge our current Congressman, Chris Smith. We need an activist who actually understands the needs of our people, and has fought for human rights in Red Bank, in New Jersey, and indeed across the globe. Jim is a fighter and Progressive Champion, and he will make us proud!”

Eliot Colon, Brielle School Board President

It is without hesitation that I write this letter of endorsement on Jim Keady’s behalf in support of his US Congressional Candidacy in New Jersey’s 4th District.

During my 2017 New Jersey State Assembly race, I had the privilege of meeting and working with Jim on several occasions.

When I first met Jim his initial comment to me was, “please tell me how can I help you.”  From there he went on to accompany me at several ‘Gun Sense in America’ events, responded, in literally minutes, to my request for volunteers and assistance in my Puerto Rico Hurricane relief trip (while funding a significant part of the travel expense himself) and hosted a very educational, inspirational and life changing ‘Opioid Epidemic’ event.

Mr. Keady asked me many questions along the way, got to know me and then endorsed me based on my beliefs and what I could do for others and not what I could do for him. I believe that is as noble and honorable as it gets.

I know we have two other congressional candidates in this primary election, but over the course of the primary campaign, I believe that Jim has shown me a consistent commitment to our community. I know he believes in building the party from the ground-up in order to turn the 4th District blue.

As the Brielle Board of Education President I hear a constant refrain: ‘keep children first’ — and I truly believe in (and have seen first-hand during my PR relief trip and subsequent events) Mr. Keady’s passion for fighting the tough fight and helping others selflessly.   That is the type of person I want representing my family in Washington and that is why I am personally endorsing Jim Keady for Congress
