Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean responded to Governor Phil Murphy’s push today for “free” community college:

“The offer of ‘free community college’ sounds great, but nothing is free. At a time when the State is already struggling to fund our schools, the additional cost to already overburdened New Jersey taxpayers would be immense.

“We should focus on increasing college affordability by helping students to graduate on time, and creating more opportunities for students by ensuring that college curricula match the needs of New Jersey employers.”
