Keith Doll Announces 2026 Candidacy to Represent New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District

Middletown, NJ, September 2, 2025 – Jersey Shore healthcare professional Keith Doll today announced his plans to run for U.S. Congress to challenge and unseat Representative Christopher Smith as the true voice of the residents of New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District.

“It is with all my conviction, compassion, righteous anger, and humility that I announce my candidacy to represent New Jersey’s Fourth Congressional District,” said Doll. “This campaign will highlight the continued struggles of working people to make a living in the world’s richest nation. While a handful of billionaires and the elite buy our elections to funnel corporate profits into their own pockets, our elected leaders sell out our freedoms and souls by representing their own career interests rather than our rights to life, liberty, and property.”

Doll currently lives in Middletown, NJ, with his wife and three young children, and was raised within a working-class family in Central NJ. He is a licensed Registered Nurse, and a nearly 20 year employee of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), the world-renowned leader in cancer care, treatment, and research. For the last eight years, Doll has provided comprehensive critical post-anesthesia nursing care at the bedside for patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures at MSK’s Monmouth County facility in Middletown.

“Nursing is perennially considered the most highly honest and ethical profession, and nurses are trained to think critically, communicate clearly, problem-solve, and prioritize,” said Doll. “Nurses believe evidence-based practice drives positive outcomes, and maintain a willingness to learn and grow with science, the profession, and the needs of patients. Most importantly, at a time in our history when our society suffers from an extreme moral and compassion deficit, nurses are natural advocates that exemplify empathy and understanding among people regardless of background or income level.”

Doll’s candidacy comes at an incredibly tenuous moment in United States history. Ahead of the nation’s 250th Anniversary on July 4, 2026, and the midterm elections of the President’s second, non-consecutive term, the American people are finding the cost of living is soaring. Inflation concerns continue to rise as polls indicate individuals and families are having trouble keeping up with grocery prices, electric bills, and expenses related to healthcare, childcare, and education. Small businesses are struggling under the President’s economic tariff plan, with consumers reducing spending to keep up with increasing costs. Americans’ rights are also under attack by a series of Presidential Executive Orders, currently being challenged in the courts as unconstitutional, that threaten the peace and security of communities of all ages, races, and political affiliations.

“Rather than speak out against the corruption of all levels of government and the misinformation that threatens our functioning economy and democracy, Representative Smith has insulated himself in his home far away from constituents. He votes in lockstep of a Presidential economic scheme that is bankrupting the Jersey Shore’s working class. He selectively speaks out against human rights abuses abroad, but denies the attacks to freedom here on his own home soil. His “pro-life” record refuses to acknowledge the autonomy of women to make healthcare decisions with their doctors about their own bodies, and is void of a policy agenda that actually supports a child’s life after birth, including guaranteeing access to medical care, child care, and educational resources. He feigns concern over environmental protections, but sides with reductions to regulations that protect our clean food, water, and air. It is time we finally hold him accountable for over 40 years of votes, most recently the near-full implementation of Project 2025 and the incredibly damaging Big Beautiful Bill, that represent his own desire to maintain political power over the people he is supposed to represent.”

Doll’s grassroots campaign is committed to growing from the ground up, powered by constituents and their concerns for failed representation at the federal level, and will not accept any corporate PAC donations.

“This election will be won by amplifying the voices and concerns heard at civic events and by knocking on doors all across the District,” reiterated Doll.
