KIVVIT TAKES GOLD FOR REACH NJ CAMPAIGN & BRONZE FOR “BACK IN THE WATER” AD AT POLLIES
ASBURY PARK – Kivvit today announced that the Reach NJ campaign and the Committee to Build the Economy’s (CBE) “Back in the Water” ad were honored last week by the Pollie Awards. Reach NJ received a gold medal for “Best Television Campaign” in the Public Affairs/Issue Advocacy Division and “Back In The Water” won a bronze medal for “Independent Expenditure Campaign – Governor” in the Television – Candidate Division.
“Kivvit is especially appreciative of these awards because this recognition comes from our peers in the industry,” said Managing Partner Maggie Moran. “I am incredibly proud of the work our team has done and would like to recognize Adam Steinberger for his tremendous efforts on both of these campaigns. Kivvit will continue to use cutting edge technology and innovative thinking to deliver for our clients.”
The Pollie Awards are the most prized and sought-after awards in the political communications and public affairs industries. Every entry – whether submitted by a large consulting company or an individual consultant – is considered equal in competing for honors of excellence. A blind jury of professional peers selects award winners. Esquire magazine has dubbed the Pollies “…the Oscars of political advertising.”
Reach NJ was a public awareness campaign dedicated to reducing the stigma of addiction, increasing access to help and educating New Jersey residents on the dangers of opioid and heroin addiction. It sought to provide information and access to services for those suffering from addiction as well as their family members, and provide information on what opioids are and the dangers they present.
“Back in the Water” highlighted the records of Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno and Governor Chris Christie during last year’s gubernatorial race. It focused on issues from equal pay for women to the state’s economy to properly funding our schools.
The CBE was formed to ensure that the shared progressive values of the people of New Jersey were represented in last year’s gubernatorial election. The CBE advocated to help rebuild New Jersey’s economy by putting the interest of working class New Jersey residents first.
In addition to the Pollies, Kivvit has won several other awards for the Reach NJ campaign. The campaign won a silver medal at the Bulldog Awards for “Best Government/Public Service Campaign.” The Reach NJ ad entitled “Mother’s Day” won the Reed Awards’ Best TV Ad For a Public Affairs/Issue Advocacy Campaign. That ad can be viewed here. The AVA Digital Awards also honored Kivvit for two Reach NJ ads. The ad “What is an Opioid,” narrated by Dr. James Baird of Kennedy University Hospital, received a Platinum Award and the ad “Ambulance” received a Gold Award. “What is an Opioid” can be viewed here and “Ambulance” can be viewed here.
The CBE ad “Back in the Water” was also honored by the Reed Awards for Best TV Ad For a Statewide Independent Expenditure Campaign. The ad can be viewed here.
The Pollie Awards also recognized Kivvit for its work in New York. New Yorkers Against Corruption – a coalition of more than one hundred and fifty organizations that advocated against a statewide ballot initiative for a Constitutional Convention or “Con Con” – won a gold medal for “Web Video” in the Digital/Internet Candidate Division for “a Con’s Con.”
