Lagana, Swain, Tully Team Up with the CBVI to Host a Free Eye Exam Day
Trenton – Senator Joseph Lagana, Assemblywoman Lisa Swain, and Assemblyman Chris Tully will be joined by the Department of Human Services’ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI) as they host a free vision screening day on Tuesday, June 25, at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Lodi, at 460 Passaic Avenue, Lodi, NJ, 07644, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. as a part of the Commission’s Project BEST.
“Health care is expensive, yet for every American, it is a necessity,” said Senator Lagana (D-Bergen/Passaic). “For many people unfortunately, an eye exam is a luxury. That is why I am proud we were able to partner with the Department of Human Services to bring free eye exams to the 38th District.”
“Detection and awareness are the first steps to preventing harmful vision impairments, and while regular vision screenings are a crucial part of this process, we understand that not everyone has access to these services,” said Assemblywoman Swain (D-Bergen/Passaic). “Our office is glad to partner with the Department of Human Services to provide free vision screenings to our community.”
“Senator Lagana, Assemblywoman Swain and I are looking forward to seeing constituents from the 38th District take advantage of this service,” said Assemblyman Tully (D-Bergen/Passaic). “We hope that by providing these no cost vision screenings, we are taking a step towards overall health improvements in our community.”
Project BEST, Better Eye-Health Services and Treatment, is part of an ongoing effort by the Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired to reduce the incidence of blindness. The program provides eye health education and safety by offering no-cost vision screenings for adults and children throughout the state.
