Lance Statement on Defense Budget

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) issued the following statement after passage of the Department of Defense Appropriations Act:

“This budget ensures our military has the resources to defeat our adversaries, facilitate efforts of peace like the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and deliver the biggest pay raise for our service members in nine years.  Global powers like China and Russia do not share American interests and this bill increases our competitive advantage to confront these threats in cyber warfare and other 21^st Century challenges.  A strong and ready military is a deterrent against bad actors and best positioned to respond to man-made or natural disasters.  I urge passage in the U.S. Senate and for the measure to reach President Trump’s desk promptly.”
