Lance Statement on North Korea

FLEMINGTON, N.J. — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) issued the following statement after North Korea suspended its nuclear and missile testing:

“The suspension of nuclear testing by North Korea is a major step – a direct result of the sanctions passed by Congress and enforced by the Trump Administration. This is steady diplomatic progress.

“I am cautiously optimistic that the Kim regime is realizing North Korea’s situation is untenable.  The United States and the world community must continue to press for nuclear disarmament and deescalation.

“The Trump Administration has made this national security threat a top priority. Our Nation needs all our diplomats at the table.  The Senate should confirm Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.”
