Lance Statement on the Release of the ‘Nunes Memo’

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) released the following statement after the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released a previously-classified memo concerning the FBI:

“Public policy is always best served with transparency.  That is why I believe the issues raised in the memo should be reviewed and debated in the public arena.  As one of the first Republican lawmakers to review a ‘counter memo’ authored by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, I call on its immediate public release as well so that the American people and lawmakers can compare and contrast these two documents.  This conversation will inevitably guide the congressional debate on reforms and improved accountability to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.”
