Lance Statement on Rescission Package

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) released the following statement after opposing the rescission package:

“I certainly favor eliminating and rescinding federal spending that is no longer necessary, has been diverted from its original intent or has sat unused for years.  But this package needlessly targets funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program – which has delivered health insurance to 9 million children in a fiscally responsible manner.  CHIP is only law because of the work of my Committee and the Republican majority.  We should not undermine this work.”
