Letter to Cory Booker from NJ LGBTQ Elected Officials Alliance In Opposition To Pompeo Confirmation
Dear Senator Cory Booker,
Thank you for your line of questioning regarding LGBTQ rights at the confirmation hearing of Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.
Mr. Pompeo’s past speeches and platforms on the LGBTQ community and our rights as Americans must be taken into account prior to any vote. We can not have an emissary to the world who continues to believe that LGBTQ Americans should be second class citizens, especially when LGBTQ citizens of other nations are imprisoned and murdered because of whom they love.
We implore you and your colleagues to vote against the confirmation of Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.
