LGBTQ+ for Biden/Harris NJ Co-Chairs Joe Forte and Lauren Albrecht released the following statement:

We are beyond thrilled to congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-Elect Kamala Harris. They have both been a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and are strong allies. The 2020 election was at a critical time in our country, which mobilized us here in New Jersey to put together weekly phone banks into battle states and help assist LGBTQ+ candidates up and down the ballot. Our country's current crises are severe — from a pandemic to an economic recession, climate change to racial injustice. We know under Biden/Harris's strong leadership, we will see this great nation heal and unite. We are so grateful for the hundreds of grassroots volunteers that helped us push out Biden/Harris's message.

The Biden/Harris team has promised to enact the Equality Act as a top legislative priority during their first 100 days. This is a historical moment in history. We are also excited to see future appointments that are genuinely diverse and reflective of the United States, including members of the LGBTQ community.
