Liberals like Gottheimer “campaign as moderates but they always govern like radicals”

Hackensack, N.J. – Steve Lonegan, the conservative Republican running in New Jersey 5th District, says President Trump’s remarks yesterday warning of how a Democrat-run Congress would govern are spot-on and describe his liberal opponent Josh Gottheimer to a T.

“The president is absolutely right that there are no Blue Dog Democrats, red state Democrats or conservative Democrats,” Lonegan said. “There only Pelosi Democrats who are ‘weak on crime, weak on terrorism and weak on national defense.’”

“The president might as well have mentioned Josh Gottheimer by name. Gottheimer is the epitome of the fake red state Democrat who runs around the 5th District acting like a Republican but then votes right along with Nancy Pelosi every chance he gets – including voting against tax relief for his own constituents.”

“The minute Nancy Pelosi were to take the gavel, Gottheimer’s phony, all-talk, do-nothing Problem Solvers Caucus would be forgotten, and the president’s pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda would come to a grinding halt,” Lonegan added.

“The people of the 5th district deserve strong, conservative leadership in Congress, not an empty suit who is a Pelosi-Soros puppet.”
