Long Hill Democratic Municipal Chair Refutes Deputy Mayor’s Assertion at Township Committee Meeting

Democrats’ Requests for Debate have Gone Unanswered for Weeks

Long Hill Township– The following is a statement from Roseanne Calluori, Democratic Party Municipal Chair for Long Hill Township.
“I was disappointed to hear Deputy Mayor Piserchia’s accusation during the last night’s Township Committee Meeting that the Republican candidate was not invited to attend the candidate forum until after the date was set. In actuality, I have reached out at least five times to my counterpart in the Republican party over the last few weeks to try to schedule a debate, but have received no response. I left my last message on Tuesday October 7th, prior to any public announcement. I am sure that the moderators of the debate will welcome the participation of the Republican candidate as would the residents of Long Hill. However, I would like to thank him for promoting the event.”
The candidate forum will take place on Tuesday, October 15th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Long Hill Senior Center- 769 Valley Road, Gillette. The forum will be moderated jointly by the Watchung Hills Regional High School Democratic and Republican Clubs. The candidates for Long Hill Township Committee and the Board of Education have all been invited to participate.
