LUPE PAC Announces Endorsements of 2020 Candidates

Trenton – September 25, 2020 – LUPE PAC proudly announces the endorsement of the following candidates running for office in the upcoming November election:

  • Celeste Fernandez: Atlantic County Freeholder-At-Large
  • Cary Amaro: Morris County Freeholder-At-Large
  • Wilda Diaz: Re-Election as Mayor of the City of Perth Amboy

“In the upcoming, critically important election, I am proud to support Latinas who are stepping up to represent our families and our values here in New Jersey,” stated Laura Matos, President of LUPE PAC. “It is an honor to endorse these women not only during Hispanic Heritage Month, but during this important time for women and minorities across our country. With COVID-19 disproportionately impacting black and brown communities and civil rights of those individuals threatened daily, these women will help to ensure our community’s voices are heard in the fight for justice.”

Celeste and Cary were first-time candidates in 2018 and 2019, respectively, both narrowly missing earning the majority of votes. Mayor Diaz is seeking re-election for her fourth term; she is both Perth Amboy’s first female mayor as well as the first Latina mayor in the state of New Jersey.
