MacArthur Demands Answers from the CBO

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom MacArthur sent a letter to the Director of the Congressional Budget Office, Keith Hall, demanding answers regarding the CBO’s report on the American Health Care Act.  The letter raises various questions about the report including:

·         Asking for confirmation that Holly Harvey, the primary project leader for the report on the AHCA, advised Hillary Clinton on designing a single payer healthcare system, and if so why Congress was not informed?

·         The CBO was drastically incorrect when estimating future insureds under the ACA.  How did the CBO ensure they weren’t making the same errors in the AHCA report?

·         Why did the CBO decline to provide an estimate of premium reductions under the AHCA?

Recently, OMB Director Mick Mulvaney shed light on some of these same concerns in an interview with The Washington Examiner.
