Mayor and Senator will join Newark seniors to hear their concerns

about future of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid under Trump

Newark, NJ – April 23, 2025 – Mayor Ras J. Baraka and U.S. Senator Andy Kim will hold a Senior Roundtable in Newark on Thursday, April 24, at 10 a.m., to discuss the future of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and hear constituent’s concerns.

At a time when the Trump Administration is threatening to roll back essential programs that millions of Americans rely on, this conversation will focus on protecting the dignity, security, and healthcare of our seniors. Mayor Baraka and Senator Kim will hear directly from residents about the challenges they face and discuss what elected officials can do to protect what generations of seniors have earned.
