MAYOR BHALLA CALLS A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO SAFEGUARD HOBOKEN MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
Hoboken, NJ – Hoboken Mayor, Ravi S. Bhalla has called for a Special Meeting of the Hoboken City Council on September 26 at 7pm. The Mayor is hoping for unanimous support of a resolution that was proposed and tabled at the last City Council Meeting that will help safeguard Hoboken’s upcoming Municipal Elections.
“On September 18th , the City Council had the opportunity to adopt a resolution sponsored by Councilmembers Doyle and Jabbour that called for the adhering to and enforcement of the City’s campaign finance and pay-to-play laws and I was disappointed that the Council failed to act on this common sense measure intended to safeguard the integrity of our local elections,” said Bhalla. Bhalla added, “With municipal elections only weeks away, time is of the essence and it is vital that there be a level playing field for all candidates; the resolution presently before the Council does just that.”
