Mayor Davis Adds Second Ward Councilman Sal Gullace to Ticket

BAYONNE, NJ — Second Ward Councilman Sal Gullace is the latest member of Mayor Jimmy Davis’ council slate to be announced by the campaign. First elected in 2014, Gullace is a lifelong resident of the Second Ward who is known as a strong advocate for his neighborhood with a commitment to constituent service.

“Bayonne residents know that they can count on Sal Gullace to be an advocate for them and their families and that’s why I’m excited that he’s once again running on our team,” said Mayor Davis. “Councilman Gullace is always working to improve quality of life for the Second Ward and that’s why he’s the best choice to continue serving on the Council.”

A contractor by trade, Councilman Gullace has distinguished himself as a responsive advocate for his neighbors. He has worked to improve city services and to gain the cooperation of outside institutions like PSE&G and Suez Water to quickly and effectively resolve quality of life issues. Councilman Gullace has also been a strong supporter of the Davis administration’s agenda of moving the city forward by attracting new development and investment to Bayonne, creating jobs and increased city revenue. This has been especially evident in the new development in the Second Ward in the vicinity of the 22nd Street Light Rail station, where new restaurants, apartments and the new state-of-the-art RWJ Barnabas outpatient facility have replaced empty lots and abandoned warehouses.

“I’m excited to run with Mayor Davis again because of all the great advances our team has made for our city,” said Councilman Gullace. “Bayonne is finally moving forward with a city government that is responsive, proactive and effective and the proof is in the new developments that are generating new tax revenue and jobs.”

Mayor Davis kicked off his re-election campaign last month in front of a packed room with hundreds of supporters as well as Democratic leaders from throughout Hudson County. Council President Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski was the first announced member of his ticket, followed by Councilman at-Large Juan Perez and Councilman Gary La Pelusa. Additional members of his campaign team and council slate in the coming weeks.
