MAYOR FRANK M. GILLIAM JR PRESENTED A PROCLAMATION TO THE ATLANTIC CITY FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY IN RECOGNITION OF 115 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

Atlantic City, New Jersey – Mayor Frank M. Gilliam Jr. presented the Atlantic City Free Public Library with a proclamation celebrating 115 years of service to the community. The Atlantic City Free Public Library is chronicling its 115 years of services, since formally opening its doors in 1903. The opening remarks were given by special guests, including Atlantic City Mayor Frank M. Gilliam, Jr.

The public was invited to the grand opening of a new exhibit – “The History of the Atlantic City Free Public Library: 115 Years in the Making” – which opened on April 9th at 12 p.m., located at the Main Library on 1 North Tennessee Avenue in Atlantic City. Through the use of photos and artifacts from the library’s Atlantic City Heritage Collections, the exhibit highlights many of the library’s locations, staff, programs and services. This exhibit will remain on display through mid-June 2018.

“The Atlantic City Free Public Library is an incredible resource for our City. The Library is a safe space for individuals of all ages to utilize their many resources like Tai Chi, homework help for students, resume development for the job-seeker, and literacy programs for children. I am delighted to have been a part of the ribbon cutting, and hope to attend many more at the Library,” said Mayor Frank M. Gilliam Jr., of Atlantic City.
