Mayor Hyatt, Council Colleagues, and VoteVets Back George Cook for Re-Election in Hillside’s First Ward

HILLSIDE, NJ: Councilman George L. Cook’s campaign for re-election to the Hillside Township Council in the First Ward has been endorsed by Hillside Mayor Andrea Hyatt, Councilman Daryl Joyner, Councilwoman Lisa M. Bonanno, the veterans’ organization VoteVets, and longtime First Ward residents. Cook appears on the November 3 ballot in position 2-1.

Councilman Joyner and Councilwoman Bonanno, who serve alongside Cook on the Township Council, also endorsed him. “[Quote from Councilwoman Bonanno],” said Bonanno. “[Quote from Councilman Joyner],” said Joyner.

Cook, a veteran and former member of the New Jersey National Guard, also has the support of VoteVets, a national organization that backs veterans running for office.

He has also earned support from neighbors in the ward. “[Quote from Arnold Williams],” said Arnold Williams, a First Ward resident of Purce Street.

Before joining the Township Council, Cook served on the Hillside Board of Education.

“I appreciate the endorsement from Mayor Andrea Hyatt and my council colleagues. I am very proud of the endorsement from Vote Vets due to the extraordinary candidates that they have endorsed in this campaign cycle. ” said Cook.

The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. First Ward voters can find George Cook at ballot position 2-1.
