Middlesex County to offer third dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine beginning

with Monroe Senior Center vaccine clinic on Tuesday, October 12

Pfizer booster shots available to fully vaccinated individuals who are: aged 65 and older, residents of long-term care facilities, or certain individuals aged 18 or older

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Middlesex County will host a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic from 10 am to noon on Tuesday, October 12 at the Monroe Senior Center (located at 12 Halsey Reed Road in Monroe Township), for individuals eligible to receive a third dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine according to guidelines issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Per the CDC, those eligible for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster shot include people who received their second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least six months ago and are: age 65 or older; a resident of a long-term care facility; age 18 or older and have an underlying health condition that puts them at high risk for severe COVID-19; or age 18 or older and at high risk due to occupational or institutional exposure. Additional details regarding who is eligible to receive the third dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine can be found on the CDC website.

Rios. “In keeping with recommendations from the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health, Middlesex County is proud to continue the fight to protect our residents from this potentially deadly virus by offering Pfizer COVID-19 booster shots to those who are eligible. COVID-19 has already killed more than 700,000 Americans. If you are eligible to receive a third dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, I urge you to schedule your appointment as soon as possible.”

Monroe was proud to partner with Middlesex County to bring first- and second- doses of the COVID-19 vaccines to Township and area residents since the vaccines became available early this year,” said Monroe Mayor Stephen Dalina. “Our remarkable vaccination rates in every age category reflect our efforts to provide all residents who desire a vaccine the opportunity to get one.  We continue to encourage every resident to get vaccinated and receive the booster vaccine if you qualify.”

Appointments for the third dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine are required and can be made on the Middlesex County website at http://www.middlesexcountynj.gov/Government/Departments/PSH/Pages/Covid-19-Vaccine.aspx. Third doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will also be available by appointment at Middlesex County vaccination sites.

All individuals should bring their vaccine card with them to their Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot appointment.

Those who received the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are currently not eligible for the third dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine per the CDC.
