Mikie Sherrill Files Almost 6,000 Petition Signatures for Race in NJ-11
Fairfield, NJ — Yesterday Mikie Sherrill filed almost 6,000 petition signatures as a candidate in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. After filing, Sherrill released the following statement:
“I am incredibly proud of the work that has gone into our filing. The signatures collected represent the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of residents who want new leadership in Congress that will fight for New Jersey’s economy, our healthcare, and fair treatment from Washington. I look forward to building on this momentum and listening to people here about how we can move this country forward together.”
Sherrill submitted 5,677 signatures on 266 petition booklets. Mikie Sherrill for Congress used an all-volunteer effort to collect petition signatures, with 80 percent of signatures collected door-to-door throughout the district. Congressional candidates are required to submit 200 signatures. The deadline to file is April 2, 2018.
