First elected to Monroe Township Council at the age of 23, the youngest Councilperson in the township’s history, Cody Miller (28) kicked off his election bid last Tuesday for the Ward 2 Council seat. At a campaign kick-off Cody stated, “I am proud to have the support of the local Democratic Party. I’ve grown up in Monroe Township my entire life and I’m passionate about being an advocate for young families and younger generations. Over the last three years, I have voted on and worked to introduce a budget with a 0% tax increase in 2017, 2018, and 2019. If I have the honor of being re-elected, I intend to hold the line on property taxes, bring in new businesses, invest in our infrastructure and work to combat the opioid epidemic.”

Cody currently works as the Director of the Foundation and Alumni Relations at Rowan College of South Jersey, is a volunteer firefighter, and serves as the President of the Volunteer Center of South Jersey. At 21, he was appointed as the youngest community college trustee in the state of New Jersey and voted on the partnership agreement with Rowan University, creating Rowan College at Gloucester County (now Rowan College of South Jersey). He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University – Camden and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership at Rowan University.
