Monmouth County COVID-19 Free Testing Program to increase number of tests at each location

FREEHOLD, NJ – As part of the County’s COVID-19 Free Testing Program, the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced that the number of tests administered at each site will be increased from 100 to 150 tests beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

“My fellow Freeholders and I realize the importance of increased testing in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone. “It is also important to remember to do our part to protect our family, friends and community by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering, washing our hands and staying home when sick.”

“The Monmouth County Health Department and Office of Emergency Management have done as tremendous job of establishing the free testing locations and administering more than 4,000 tests since July,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley. “We strongly urge residents who have been exposed to COVID-19, whether symptomatic and asymptomatic, to get tested at any of the testing sites offered throughout the County.”

Monmouth County will offer free COVD-19 testing for County residents at locations that allow tests to be administered inside and outside, depending on the weather. The testing dates for the upcoming week are as follows:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 17 in Red Bank from 4 to 7 p.m., Pilgrim Baptist Church, 172 Shrewsbury Ave.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18 in Asbury Park from 4 to 7 p.m., Asbury Park Transportation Center, 1 Municipal Plaza
  • Thursday, Nov. 19 in Keansburg from 9 a.m. to noon, New Point Comfort Firehouse, 192 Carr Ave.
  • Saturday, Nov. 21 in Freehold from 9 a.m. to noon, Freehold Borough Fire Department (Main Building), 49 W. Main St.

As of Monday, Nov. 9, the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) has administered 4,036 tests, with 112 positive results, as part of the County’s COVID-19 Free Testing Program, which began in July. MCHD is conducting contact tracing for all residents who test positive.
