Amirah Hussain has joined the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce as director of government relations, where she will advocate on behalf of the business community, primarily in health care, economic development and taxation. Amirah reports to Michael Egenton, executive vice president of government relations with the Chamber.

Hussain previously was deputy chief of staff for Assemblyman Herb Conaway, where she focused on policy research and overseeing daily office operations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Rutgers University.

“I look forward to using my experience in state government to advocate for New Jersey Chamber of Commerce member companies,” Hussain said, “and to help foster the kind of business climate in which businesses here will flourish.”
