N.J. Nurses Endorse
33 Assembly Candidates
TRENTON, N.J.—Sept. 20, 2019— The New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA) Board of Directors announced today its support for 33 NJ General Assembly candidates.
“So much of modern health care is driven by a legislative and political process,” said NJSNA President Kate Gillespie, RN, MBA, NE-BC. “With so many important issues that impact the nursing profession and patient care, it is critical nurses get out and vote on November 5 to become a part of the process to protect the practice of nursing and their patients.”
All 80 seats in the Assembly are up for election in 2019.
Through its Interested Nurses Political Action Committee (INPAC), NJSNA is endorsing the following New Jersey Assembly candidates, all of whom are incumbents:

INPAC Board of Trustees includes nurses from all regions of the state in all fields of nursing.
INPAC, which is the political arm of NJSNA, is not a lobbying organization. Instead, it aims to influence healthcare policy discourse by endorsing and contributing to candidates who support the nursing profession and quality healthcare. Elected officials directly affect the nursing practice and the healthcare system. Because politics have a great impact on nursing, it is imperative that nursing have a meaningful impact on politics.
