Naloxone Available at Five Trenton Area Pharmacies

TRENTON, N.J. – Naloxone, a drug that can reverse opioid overdoses, is available at five Trenton area pharmacies on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. Patients do not need a prescription, insurance, payment, or to disclose their names. The drug is being provided by the New Jersey Department of Human Services.

“The opioid epidemic has claimed countless lives, and this drug can help prevent more deaths,” said Mayor Reed Gusciora. “If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, please know there are resources available to help.”

“I want to thank the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services for providing this resource to help reduce the risk of people dying from an overdose,” said Trenton Fire Director Derrick Sawyer.

The three pharmacies within Trenton are:

• RiteAid (1801 Kuser Road)
• Walgreens (1096 Highway 33)
• Westside Pharmacy (215 N. Hermitage Ave)

Additionally, two nearby ShopRite Pharmacies with Naloxone include:

• ShopRite Pharmacy of Ewing (1750 North Olden Ave)
• ShopRite Pharmacy of Hamilton Square (1225 Route #33/Hamilton Plaza)
