New Jersey Citizen Action applauds advancement of Health Insurance Assessment bill

New Jersey Citizen Action (NJCA) applauded the New Jersey state Assembly and Senate committees today for advancing S2676/A4389, which would generate $300 million to help expand affordable health care coverage options for New Jerseyans.

“If we are to safely reopen and help our state and families recover from the fallout of this public health crisis, we must prioritize solutions that will help our residents get and stay well in the months and years ahead,” said Maura Collinsgru, NJCA Healthcare Program Director. “NJCA and the New Jersey for Healthcare Coalition applaud legislators for advancing this bill, which will provide funding for more quality health care coverage options for our most vulnerable New Jersey residents, in particular communities of color, uninsured children and adults, and those hit hardest by the pandemic. We urge our full Legislature to support this bill as an important component both for ensuring a complete recovery from the COVID-19 health crisis, and for achieving our shared goal of affordable coverage for all New Jersey residents.”
