NEW JERSEY LCV STATEMENT ON NESE FRESHWATER WETLAND PERMIT APPLICATION
TRENTON, NJ- Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, released the following statement today on Williams Transco’s Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) application for New Jersey DEP Freshwater Wetlands permits:
New Jersey LCV is committed to the fight against the unnecessary and dangerous Northeast Supply Enhancement project. As a resident of Franklin, it is essential to not only my family, but to all residents in our state that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection denies Transco’s application for Freshwater Wetlands permits. Our critical habitats and our clean drinking water are too valuable to be endangered by this project. New Jersey should focus on achieving 100% clean renewable energy by 2050, which creates good local jobs in the green economy and secures a better future for our children.
New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
