NEW JERSEY LCV STATEMENT ON TRANSCO PULLING ITS APPLICATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PERMITS FOR NESE
TRENTON, NJ– Ed Potosnak, executive director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, released the following statement today on Williams Transco’s Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) project permit withdrawal:
“I am pleased that Williams Transco has decided to withdraw their application for this pipeline. The company saw the writing on the wall that the proposal was going to be denied, and that their incomplete application wouldn’t meet New Jersey’s high standards designed to protect our health and environment. Their withdrawal is a win for our families and businesses, and it’s clear the refiling for authorization will have the same result a year from now as it does today: denial.”
New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
