TRENTON – Following the announcement today that Governor Mikie Sherrill has signed an Executive Order to improve access to affordable homes, Network President and Chief Executive Officer Staci Berger issued the following statement:

“Housing is a human right; yet, for many, safe and affordable homes are increasingly out of reach. We commend Governor Sherrill for elevating the urgency of housing affordability and support today’s executive order to help meet the growing demand. And we join New Jersey’s own Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding in recognizing a simple truth: housing is good.

“New Jersey can expand access to affordable homes by investing in both the development and preservation of homes for the long term. The Affordable Housing Trust Fund is a critical tool in advancing this work, and we look forward to working with the Sherrill Administration to achieve these goals.”
