NJ LEGISLATIVE BLACK CAUCUS TO HOST RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA HEARINGS

TRENTON – Senator Ronald L. Rice (D-Essex), Chair of the New Jersey Legislative Black Caucus, will be joined by other caucus members Tuesday, March 27, at the second of three hearings on the newly introduced legislation to decriminalize marijuana in New Jersey.

Speakers from states that have already passed legislation legalizing recreational marijuana use will share information about the outcomes and real life impact of decriminalization.

“Our intention is to provide the full spectrum of facts around this issue so that citizens are educated about the drawbacks as well as the benefits of legalization,” said Senator Rice.  “We want the record to reflect the whole picture and all the consequences, both positive and negative.”

The upcoming hearing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Mt. Teman A.M.E. Church, 160 Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, New Jersey 07201.

The final hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 110 Rev. Dr. I.S. Cole Place, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
