NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka issued the following statement today regarding the passing of former state Senator Sandra Cunningham. 

“NJBIA and New Jersey’s business community mourn the passing of Senator Cunningham, who brought warmth and dedication to public service with the Senate.

“While known as a trailblazer in Hudson County, it was her positive work in higher education and workforce development which made her an instrumental legislative partner for the business community. She was always very accessible to NJBIA, and we also greatly appreciated her efforts advocating for prisoner re-entry into the workforce, an important, mutual mission.

“NJBIA sends our heartfelt condolences to Senator Cunningham’s family, friends and colleagues in the legislative community.”
