NJCA endorses Sue Altman for Congressional District 12

Newark—April 30, 2026—New Jersey Citizen Action’s Political Action Committee (NJCA-PAC) today endorsed Democratic candidate Sue Altman in the Congressional District 12 primary election.  In a press statement NJCA Executive Director Dena Mottola Jaborska said:
“In a crowded field, Sue Altman stands out with the strongest track record on the NJCA candidate priorities of advancing economic justice and equity, working to strengthen and revitalize our democracy, and standing up to powerful, corrupt interests. Sue has demonstrated unwavering commitment to New Jersey’s working families, and she’s the best candidate to take on an authoritarian Trump regime, help rebuild our country’s democratic institutions, and create an economy that works for everyone.”
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of New Jersey Citizen Action,” said Altman. “Citizen Action has been at the forefront of the most important fights in New Jersey for years, fighting for everyday working people and the structures that don’t serve the public interest. They have led work on consumer protection, economic justice, and democracy reforms here in New Jersey and I look forward to partnering with them to bring those same principles to Washington.”
“As the former director of New Jersey Working Families, Sue fought alongside NJCA to advance numerous policies creating economic opportunities for working families, including a New Jersey millionaire’s tax, and critical reforms to our state’s Economic Development Authority,” continued Mottola Jaborska. “Sue played a key role in the movement that ended New Jersey’s notorious county line, which has led to a much stronger and more inclusive state democracy. She has been a tireless advocate of policies promoting government accountability and transparency.
“Sue is a fighter for working families who will stand up against entrenched corporate and political interests no matter how powerful they are. She has taken on Chris Christie, the George Norcross political machine, and literally put her on body on the line fighting against a $1 billion corporate state welfare program that lined the pockets of politically connected corporations. Sue will be the lawmaker best able to take the fight to a corrupt, authoritarian Trump regime that has gutted healthcare and other essential programs, enacted policies attacking immigrants and weakening our democracy, and launched an unjust and unnecessary war that has worsened our affordability crisis.
“Sue understands that defeating Trump will not be enough. For too long, our political system and economy have been rigged in favor of the ultra-wealthy and big corporations, and working families everywhere are calling for change   Sue is the candidate who will meet this moment, work to transform our economy so it works for everyone, and rebuild our democratic institutions so everyone has a voice. We urge Congressional District 12 voters to vote for Sue Altman on June 2nd.”
