February 4, 2019 was a historic day for New Jersey and millions of men and women living in the Garden State.

Governor Phil Murphy, alongside Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, signed legislation raising the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour. New Jersey is now on a responsible path to providing a livable income to hard working families while bolstering the state’s economy.

A $15 minimum wage means people like Brian Kulas will no longer have to decide which essential goods he needs to take out of his shopping cart because he is over budget. It means healthcare workers like Cherie McGhee can relax and enjoy time with her own family after a busy day providing care to the sick and vulnerable.

No one should have to choose between having enough food for the rest of the week or paying rent on time to avoid eviction. New Jersey is a fairer and more affordable place to live with a $15 minimum wage now in sight.
