NJDSC STATEMENT ON NJ GOP HYPOCRISY 

WEST ORANGE, NJ — New Jersey State Democratic Committee Chairman LeRoy J. Jones Jr. released the following statement on the NJ GOP’s blatant hypocrisy on matters of transparency and accountability:

“Governor Sherrill has always put accountability at the forefront and has repeatedly demonstrated that public service is a public trust that requires all officials to hold themselves to the highest standards.

"It is imperative that any investigation be allowed to run its course and that there be a fair and thorough review of the facts. It's telling that only one Republican State Senator has called for that.

“While the Governor is showing integrity, what is absolutely baffling is watching NJ Republicans fall over themselves while they blindly support a president who tried to overturn a free and fair election he lost with an insurrection, has repeatedly leveraged his position to enrich himself and his family to the tune of $2 billion, shaken down foreign leaders, and undermined the integrity of our elections. Until Republicans in NJ call for Donald Trump to be held accountable, their positions about anyone else’s supposed integrity are laughable and enable the Trump corruption that every day New Jerseyans are paying for.

“The NJ GOP and the party of Donald Trump have zero credibility when it comes to issues of integrity and at every turn have failed to hold this corrupt president accountable.”
