NJDSC Trains Democrats to Run for Office at Four Successful Candidate Training Events
TRENTON, N.J. — The New Jersey Democratic State Committee has completed four successful candidate training events that in total prepared 287 potential candidates to run for office. This is the second year NJDSC offered these free events as a way to provide Democrats with the skills and resources they need to run successful campaigns and to bring progressive change to their local communities.
“Our Democratic Party is coming off one of the most successful Midterm Elections in history, but we need to keep the momentum going,” said NJDSC Chairman John Currie. “Our successful candidate trainings demonstrate our commitment to building the Democratic Party so we can continue to have quality candidates running for office up and down the ballot.”
Training events were held in Bergen, Morris, Ocean and Burlington counties on March 23, March 24, April 13 and April 12 through a partnership with the National Democratic Training Committee.
“Ensuring that we have quality and dedicated individuals ready to run for office is a critical step in electing Democrats up and down the ballot,” said NJDSC Executive Director Liz Gilbert. “We are thrilled with the turnout at these candidate training sessions and are looking forward to implementing more programs that will prepare New Jersey Democrats for another successful Election Day this November.”
