NJSDC: More Than 65 Progressive Organizations Have Endorsed Governor Murphy’s Budget

Delgado-Polanco and Currie

The NJSDC sent out the following email this afternoon:

Democrats,

The Leader of our State and our Democratic Party, Governor Phil Murphy, has said it over and over again — he’s working to ensure that our state has a balanced, responsible budget that reflects progressive values and sound principles.

Now, the administration led by the Governor — who you helped elect with a mandate this past November — has put forth a budget that’s attracting support from a diverse, broad range of progressive organizations representing hundreds of thousands of members throughout the state under the banner of the Better Choices Coalition for New Jersey, a coalition of groups. In a letter sent to legislative leaders, the coalition said:

We share a desire to ensure New Jersey not only meets its existing obligations but also has the ability to implement the public policy goals that will make New Jersey a national leader on so many issues. From public education to mass transit, and including social programs middle-class and working families rely upon, we need a budget that won’t fall short.

You can read the full letter to legislative leadership here.

The Better Choices Coalition for New Jersey is made up of over 60 organizations ranging from local labor unions to environmental groups to progressive activists and much more. The full list of organizations endorsing Governor Murphy’s budget is below:
