Now We Know Gordon Johnson’s Price: Vainieri Huttle Questions Why Johnson is Selling Out Women’s Rights to Party Insiders

I’ve been asking for a while now, what is the price that Gordon Johnson must pay to be funded by the bosses? Now it is clear, part of that price is abandoning the calls of women around the State calling for action to protect their rights.

Last week, the United States Supreme Court announced that they will take up a case on abortion access, putting the future of Roe v. Wade in more danger than ever before. Despite the immediate threat of a Trump-dominated Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, leaving women around the country without the right to make decisions about their bodies and futures, New Jersey’s male-dominated legislative leadership continues to double down on their decision to block the passage of the Reproductive Freedom Act.

And last week, I called on Assembly leadership, including Gordon Johnson, to stop blocking the passage of the Reproductive Freedom Act.

Here’s the facts: New Jersey’s legislative leadership has made it clear that they do not want to see the Reproductive Freedom Act passed, these are the same bosses and insiders who are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund Gordon Johnson’s campaign.

While Gordon Johnson continues to fold to the establishment, I continue to fight them.

I don’t care that Trenton’s insiders don’t want to see the Reproductive Freedom Act passed, I don’t answer to them, I answer to you. I wish I could say the same for Gordon Johnson.

This is what is at stake in the District 37 primary – do voters want a Senator who folds to the insiders, who refuses to step up and show leadership? Or, do voters want a Senator who has always been at the forefront of fighting for our rights, a Senator who will never back down and who will never stop fighting for real, progressive change.

District 37 voters don’t deserve a Senator who will play politics with their rights, with their futures, District 37 voters deserve a Senator who will fight for them, no matter what.
