NRCC: Flashback Friday: Malinowski gave Maduro a pass
As Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor in the Obama Administration, Tom Malinowski had a chance to crack down on the murderous Maduro regime, but instead, Malinowski recommended no sanctions against the socialist dictator.
Since Malinowski testified against sanctions, the Maduro regime has wreaked havoc on innocent Venezuelans, starving citizens, killing protestersand destroying what was once a prosperous country.
NRCC Comment: “Tom Malinowski’s failure to confront the Maduro regime while working for the Department of State highlights his abysmal judgement on foreign policy issues. New Jersey voters deserve better than having a coward representing them in Congress.” – NRCC Spokesman Michael McAdams
BACKGROUND:
- Malinowski: “We both agree that this is not the time to use the tool [sanctions], and I think we both agree that it is a potentially effective tool. It is a question of picking the right time to make sure that we achieve the effect that we want.” (Tom Malinowski, Committee on Foreign Relations, U.S. Senate, Testimony, 5/8/14)
